CARLSTADT, N.J-Pantone has created the Fall/Winter 2014/2015 edition of the Pantone View Color Planner. This multidiscipline color forecast, titled Discovery, highlights the key color palettes for womenswear, menswear, active wear, cosmetics and lifestyle, as well as industrial and graphic design.
This newest Pantone View Color Planner allows individuals to curate, balance and temper their color choices according to market needs. “By exploring these calm and conservative or deliberately quirky color combinations, we inspire a whole new mode of color expression, one that will successfully pep up consumer interest on the selling floor,” said Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute.
The seven palettes include Uncovering (bringing to mind the materials used to decipher the unknown, like fountain-pen black, charcoal, sepia ink and colored chalks); Making (showing respect for skills and materials, with colors inspired by a rich auburn, caramel and brown glow); The Essence (contemporary warm tones and solid, uncontaminated uniform colors); No Limits (combining heightened and voluptuous colors ); Voyage (mustard shades mixed with green and turquoise ); From Beyond (violet, red, lilac and burned brown hues); and Breakthrough (greens and blues “emerge from depths of ghostly, futuristic and unfathomable landscapes”).
