HIGH POINT, N.C.–Market Square & Suites has a variety of social, networking and educational events planned for next month’s October High Point Market, scheduled for Oct. 22-27.
Events on Sunday, Oct. 23, include the Belgian Flax and Linen Association reception, which will include Belgian chocolates from Leonidas and Neuhaus, Stella Artois beer and wine at bars throughout Market Square & Suites. In addition, there will be an Indian-themed celebration at Safavieh for interior designer David Easton’s Indian Sojourn line as well as a book signing for Easton’s latest book, “Timeless Elegance,” from 3-4 p.m. in the Safavieh showroom, Market Square #120.
The seminar “Yearbook 2011/2012: Trend Forecast for the Antique and Home Décor Industries” will also take place on Sunday from 2-3 p.m. at the Antique & Design Center at Market Square, mezzanine floor. Bill Indursky, co-founder of VandM.com, will give an in-depth and up-to-the-minute analysis of where the antique and home décor industries are headed. Then at the same location from 3:30-4:30 p.m., the seminar “Passion and the Six P’s of Successful Retailing” will take place, presented by Suzi West, Collier West, and which targets both the small business leader and large organization.
On Monday, Oct. 24, there will be an Upcycle Artistry Runway Show, 7-9 p.m., in conjunction with Dstripped Magazine, ITMA and Market Square & Suites. Designers from the apparel, footwear, jewelry, furniture and set design industries will show their creative solutions for discarded fabric swatches.
Also on Monday, Breck Armstrong, Moss Studios will present the seminar “Found Objects Repurposed for Modern Home Décor” at the Antique & Design Center at Market Square, mezzanine floor, from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
On Tuesday, Oct. 25, Clayton Oxford, Clayton Oxford Designs will give the seminar “Entrepreneurship & Design: The Benefits of Local Sourcing,” Antique & Design Center at Market Square, mezzanine floor, from 2-3:15 p.m.
And from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26, there will be the Courtyard Cookout to with colleagues enjoy food, drinks and live entertainment on the last night of Market.
