Nourison continues to grow its designer license group, as it recently debuted its newest one with kathy ireland Worldwide. Offering a range of rug designs, including Ireland’s first handmade rug design, the collection soft launched at April’s High Point Market, with a bigger unveiling planned for the fall.
“I’ve had my eye on Nourison for many, many years,” Ireland told HFN. Nourison is known for “fashion, innovation and quality—those elements are exciting to me.”
Showing an initial group of 30 designs at market, the collection will coordinate with kiWW’s style guides, which reflect such lifestyles as Americana, European Country and Ivory Coast. It will hit stores by the end of August or early September and includes a range of constructions.
Calling Kathy Ireland a “perfect fit” for Nourison, the company’s newest designer license addresses a different look for the company, said Alex Peykar, principal, Nourison. “It’s fresh and unique.” And there is no overlap with its other designers, such as Calvin Klein and Barclay Butera, he said, as each is distinct in its own way.
In addition, Ireland’s other brand partners are “excited about it,” Ireland said. “They get it.” The products together are not matchy matchy, she said, but “there is seamless cohesion.”
Ireland’s company, which started 20 years ago with socks, has strived to help “finding solutions for families and people in love,” Ireland added. Her customer is sophisticated and “wonderfully demanding—I love it,” she said. “She gives me my marching orders.” Ireland also considers her brand “a baby brand—there’s so much yet to do. We’re just getting started.”
