NEW YORK-The New York chapter of the International Furnishings & Design Association (IFDA) has initiated a grant through the IFDA Educational Foundation in honor of Claire Coleman, IFDA founding member and a past president of the national association.
The Claire Coleman Founder's Grant, which will be handed out each year, will support each of two IFDA chapters that are planning a marketing or communications event or project whose mission is to educate its members and the industry. The purpose of the IFDA Educational Foundation is to encourage the development of educational programs and projects that enhance the quality of life for individuals and the public at large, and to support students and professionals entering and re-entering the fields of furnishings and design.
Coleman, who founded IFDA in 1947, was honored at the organization's Circle of Excellence Awards on May 8.
