WASHINGTON, D.C.–GoodWeave USA has just launched its tenth annual rug raffle, where people can enter to win a black-and-white English Floral rug designed and donated by Carini Lang. Raffle tickets are $25 each, five for $100 or 12 for $200 and all proceeds benefit the nonprofit organization’s work to end the exploitation of children in South Asia’s rug industry.
The 6-by-9 pure wool rug has a retail value of $6,534 and can be viewed at Carini Lang’s TriBeCa showroom on 335 Greenwich Street in New York. Reminiscent of the motifs used in antique needlepoint upholstery, English Floral is an elegant and versatile carpet hand-crafted at 100 knots per inch. The drawing will take place on October 24. Individuals may purchase tickets at goodweave.org/raffle.
“We’re pleased to support GoodWeave’s commitment to children,” said Joseph Carini, creative director, Carini Lang, one of GoodWeave’s longest standing partners. “Their programs sustain communities in ways that extend far beyond commerce or industry.” The company’s fine, contemporary rugs are woven in Nepal.
