Free Campus-Wide Wi-Fi Access to Debut at AmericasMart in January
ATLANTA-AmericasMart Atlanta has completed its distributed antenna system and Wi-Fi network, so people at its markets this January will have free access to unlimited wireless Internet on all of its floors--a campus spanning 7.1 million square feet. The new system will deliver enhanced wireless coverage, capacity and data speeds for Verizon Wireless customers, AmericasMart said.
"This represents the latest advancement in our quest to give customers a digitally rich environment designed to maximize the productivity, profitability and efficiency of their market experience," said Jeffrey L. Portman, Sr., AmericasMart president and chief operating officer. "But, as important as this huge achievement is in our technology ecology, there is much, much more to come--and it's coming soon."
Comprised of nearly 1,300 antennas, more than 250 fiber-fed remotes and 3,000 connectors, the AmericasMart antenna installation particularly enhances cellular coverage during high-traffic events when thousands of people might be trying to access the network simultaneously, AmericasMart said. In addition, its website has been enhanced and enriched, it said, and includes expanded exhibitor profiles, searchable content, new floor plans and a Market Plan tool.
