DALLAS–The Total Housewares & Gourmet Market, a new trade show coinciding with the Total Home & Gift Market, Jan. 16-22, 2013, will debut next month at Dallas Market Center. Offering attendees new exhibitors, special events and seminars, celebrity chef appearances and educational opportunities, the show builds on an expanding category for DMC.
“Over the past year we have grown our housewares and gourmet marketplace by more than 25 percent,” said Cindy Morris, COO, Dallas Market Center. “We’re thrilled to launch this new show as we continue to strengthen the product offerings and establish Dallas as one of the top gourmet products destinations.”
Appearances include the return of celebrity chef Curtis Stone, who performed at The Culinary Stage’s launch this past summer. He will present a product demonstration on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at noon in the World Trade Center Hall of Nations, as part of a full schedule of demonstrations. Stone’s line, Kitchen Solutions, is available in Source One Marketing’s showroom, Trade Mart 1-1949.
Leading the educational opportunities will be Bob Coviello, president of HTI Buying Group, who will present “Managing by the Numbers,” on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, from 9 a.m. to noon in Trade Mart 2-2355. Coviello will share his personal profit/loss model as well as highlight key income and expense formulas used with variables to fit the retail business environment.
In addition, Houseware Hotspots will run daily in the Trade Mart and feature product demonstrations from resources including: Bodum, Boston Warehouse, Calphalon, Chicago Metallic, Cuisipro, Curious Chef, Island Bamboo, Jura Capresso, Kuhn Rikon, Mauviel Cookware, OXO International, Soda Stream, Trudeau Corporation, USA Pans and Wilton Armetale.
