PAWTUCKET, R.I.–Braided rug and accessories manufacturer cmi (Colonial Mills Inc.) has launched its new and completely redesigned website at colonialmills.com.
The new site incorporates simple navigation and inviting colors, the company said. “We categorized the ‘Browse By’ function into eight different categories to make it easy for the retailer or consumer to quickly find the rug that fits their décor,” said Lynne Minchello, director of marketing. The categories are modern, outdoor, juvenile, traditional, yarns/fabrics, color, shape and eco-friendly. In addition, a category for licensed designs will be added, which will include the Olivera and Renaissance patterns. The home page will also feature several of its collections on a rotating basis.
The website also showcases cmi’s assortment of accessory baskets, chair pads and stair treads for viewing and ordering, as well as such features as Decorating Tips, Take a Tour, Rug Care, Custom Design Steps, Tradeshow Information and more.
Minchello and Meredith Thayer, product and design manager, began the process of rebranding cmi last year, wanting to show a rejuvenated look as well as allowing customers to appreciate the texture and construction of braids. Minchello added, “The site looks great and really accomplished the rebranded, revived look Meredith and I set to accomplish with the 2011 cmi image.”
The company is currently implementing phase two of the website renovations, which will allow customers and retailers to access account information, place orders and make payments. “We’re excited to launch the next phase,” said Minchello. “CMI has always provided top-notch customer service, delivery times and information to our retailers, and this new site brings ‘top-notch’ to an even higher level.” The company is also on twitter (@CMI-rugs) and facebook (CMI – Colonial Mills, Inc.).
