ATLANTA–The summer edition of the Atlanta International Area Rug Market opens today, and with it the launch of several licensed collections certain to add more color to the market.
Oriental Weavers will debut its new license with color authority Pantone at market, with an initial four lines launching. It will celebrate the new collection with a party in its showroom, 3-A-2, from 4-7 p.m. today.
Other new licensed collections that will be featured at the show include Safavieh’s line with designer Isaac Mizrahi, Nourison’s expanded rug and decorative pillow line with Kathy Ireland and Couristan’s soft launch of its collection with designer Emma Gardner.
AmericasMart Atlanta continues its integration of its home and rug exhibitors. At this market new showrooms include: Silkroute International’s new space of more than 14,000 square feet on Floor 5, Liberty Oriental Rugs’ showroom of almost 5,000 square feet in 4-D-1, and StyleCraft’s new showroom, 4-A-2. String Theory Rug & Textile will also open a new 1,600 square foot showroom on Floor 5.
Artist Bob Timberlake will be in Shaw’s showroom, 6-A-2, all day today. Then, from 5-7 p.m., Shaw will host a showroom party for market, for which Timberlake will be in attendance.
At Surya’s showroom, 11-A-1, the company will host designer Jill Rosenwald at 2 p.m. today, who will share her personal design inspirations and insights with attendees. Then, starting at 5:30 p.m., Surya will have a showroom party, which will include music, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
Buyers will also be able to win area rugs and other home furnishings with AmericasMart’s new Daily Design Drawings. Today’s drawing is taking place at Capel Rugs (6-F-2). Attendees can drop off their business cards in the showroom’s ballot box all day until the drawing at 4 p.m.
