ATLANTA–AmericasMart Atlanta has unveiled a plan to expand its home furnishings offerings with the opening of Building 1 Floor 15, an addition of more than 100,000 square feet of space created expressly for design-led furniture.
The development program for the new space launches in July, and the space will officially open in January 2015 at the Atlanta Gift & Home Furnishings Market. AmericasMart said the expansion expresses its broader mission of delivering a product-rich market experience for designers, specifiers and specialty retailers needing the significant advantages of a single-source destination offering the full spectrum of lifestyle home furnishings merchandise in a sophisticated setting.
“This expansion is the true nexus of demand and performance,” said Jeffrey L. Portman, Sr., AmericasMart’s vice chairman and president. “Our continuing growth in the home sector, particularly over the past four years, positions us to address space requirements both from existing exhibitors seeking larger footprints and new lines tapping AmericasMart’s global buying power. Those are the pivot points driving the Floor 15 mission.”
With a connecting bridge to Building 2 Floor 15, buyers will be able to shop the expanded Home collection and its corresponding Gift collection both during AmericasMart’s four annual markets and as part of its Open Daily marketplace.
Renderings of the updated 15th Floor will be available in July 2014 at the Market.
