MINNEAPOLIS–Target has debuted new looks for its billboards at Times Square in New York City, which now feature commissioned works from emerging artists.
The billboards, which will remain on display through the end of October, feature an homage to New York City created by four artists based in the city—Laurie Rosenwald, Michael Anderson, Josh Goldstein and Charles Wilkin, who were chosen in partnership with the Mother advertising agency, according to a Target statement. The scenes are inspired by both images associated with the city, including landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty and Coney Island, and the Target bull’s-eye.
After the end of October, the images will be available in 1,600 limited-edition tote bags, which will be based on a design conceived exclusively for Target by designer Anna Sui. The billboard bags will be available at target.com/billboardbag for $29.99.
