Macy’s to Shutter 11 Stores

CINCINNATI–Macy’s will close 11 underperforming stores as part of a “normal-course process to prune locations” that are not meeting the company’s requirements, said Terry Lundgren, chairman, president and chief executive officer, in a statement.
The stores slated for closure are in Ernst & Young Plaza (Citicorp Plaza) in Los Angeles; The Citadel in Colorado Springs, Colo.; one in Westminster Mall in Westminster, Colo.; one in the Palm Beach Mall in West Palm Beach, Fla.; a store in the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel in Hawaii; a unit in Lafayette Square in Indianapolis; a unit in the Brookdale Center in Brooklyn Center, Minn.; a store in the Crestwood Mall in St. Louis; a store in Natrona Heights Plaza in Natrona Heights, Pa.; a store in Century III Furniture and Clearance in West Mifflin, Penn.; and a store in Bellevue Center in Nashville.
