NEW YORK–Macy’s and Feeding America will team up during Hunger Action Month in September for the “Come Together” campaign.
The program has set a goal of feeding 10 million Americans who are suffering from hunger. “Come Together” will invite the public to host special dinners in their homes and ask their guests to pledge a donation to Feeding America. In return, Macy’s will match these donations dollar for dollar until the goal of 10 million meals for the hungry is reached.
Macy’s will also conduct an awareness campaign that will include a television commercial, dinner parties hosted by chefs from the retailer’s Culinary Council at its stores throughout the nation, a national charity shopping day, the World’s Largest Dinner Party and a Web site, macys.com/cometogether, which will feature recipes, dinner-party fashions, invitations, themes, music and other special content.
The campaign will launch in mid-September with the commercial, which will feature Jessica Simpson, Queen Latifah, Mariah Carey, Usher, Martha Stewart, Emeril Lagasse, Tommy Hilfiger and Donald Trump.
