Macy’s New Home Team Takes Shape

NEW YORK–Macy’s new home team is taking shape under Jeff Kantor, who was named president and general merchandise manager last week amid a restructuring at the department store chain.
Bob Weiser has been named divisional merchandise manager of big ticket which includes furniture, mattresses and rugs, and luggage. Weiser previously served as senior vice president and general merchandise manager for the area.
Audrey Schlaepfer has been named DMM for home textiles and trim. She was previously vice president and DMM for tabletop and luggage.
Lisa Magann has been named DMM of housewares. Magann previously served as senior vice president of mattresses and area rugs.
Dana Brown is now DMM Of tabletop and decorative housewares. Brown was vice president and DMM of decorative housewares.
All DMMs will report to Kantor, who was previously president of furniture at Macy’s.
Macy’s effectively eliminated Macy’s Home Store, its home buying division last week, rolling it into a newly centralized merchandising division. The consolidation was one facet of costs cuts that included the elimination of 7,000 positions, including 40 percent of its executive staff.
