CINCINNATI–Macy’s plans to launch enhancements to its online wedding and gift registry on Feb. 1.
On that date, according to a statement from the retailer, the hosting and management of the online wedding and gift registry will begin a transition to Macys.com from WeddingChannel.com. Existing registries at Macy’s will remain in place and will not be affected by the transition, the statement said. Registered couples and their guests will access registries through Macys.com, and newly engaged couples can register for their upcoming weddings on Macys.com as well.
Among the upgraded functionalities on the wedding and gift registry will be the ability to view product videos and buying guides; access to the “Find It Store,” a system that allows an online shopper to identify if an item is in stock at a nearby Macy’s store; access to reviews of each available product posted by customers; a simplified checkout process; and participation in Macys.com’s sales and free or discounted shopping promotions.
Also this year, Macy’s will continue to host Sip & Scan events, where couples are invited to Macy’s stores for parties at which they can make gift selections.
